Theresa - Floor Supervisor/Toddler Teacher
Graduated from Durham College with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. With over five years experience in the field of child care, Theresa ran her own successful home care centre before pursuing experience in our toddler classroom. Theresa continues to build on her experiences at Utica by attending courses in Autism training and ADHD. Theresa is the recipient of the 2008 Durham Region Child Care Forum's individual Award of Excellence.
Alisha - Preschool Teacher
A current Loyalist College student, Alisha is earning her Early Childhood Education Diploma while she works in the field. Alisha has Ministry Approval based on her four years experience in the field of childcare and her status as an ECE student. Alisha has recently attended seminars dealing with behaviour management issues in the classroom and red flags in preschool development.
Deborah - JK/SK & School-age Teacher
Graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a BA in psychology and her BEd, Deborah has over 20 years experience as a classroom teacher, Early Childhood Education assistant and a stay-at-home mom. Deborah has also completed over 90% of the required courses for her Early Childhood Education Diploma through Seneca College.
Emily - Education Assistant/Daycare Support Staff
Former Sir Sandford Fleming College student in the Educational Assistant program, Emily has over four years experience in the childcare field. Emily's extensive background working with children with exceptionalities is a welcome addition to our childcare team. Emily has recently completed courses in red flags for preschool development and supporting anxious children with Autism.
Debbie - Kitchen Manager
Our newest team member brings years of experience, in restaurants and child care centres, along with her love of cooking and children to Utica Daycare. We look forward to what Debbie has in store for us.
Andrea - Supervisor Support/Staff Liaison
Currently on Maternity leave, Andrea graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours BA in History and Child Psychology. Andrea continued her education at Loyalist College, graduating with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. Andrea has over nine years in the field of Childcare, six of those years in a supervisory role. Andrea attends seminars regularly with an emphasis on autism training and behaviour management. Andrea will be providing supervisor support as needed.
